Musicmagpie cash in with Context

Musicmagpie.co.uk, the UK’s only online service that pays users cash for their old music CDs has seen the number of users of the website quadruple in less than six weeks after outsourcing its marketing to Macclesfield based Context Public Relations.

As part of the marketing programme Context will be working on increasing awareness of the Musicmagpie.co.uk brand in national and consumer press, advising on customer relationship management and developing an ongoing marketing communications programme to encourage trial and to get existing users to return when they have more CDs to turn into cash.

The initial marketing programme by Context included developing and promoting new key messages, highlighting Musicmagpie.co.uk on blogs and forums, generating coverage in both on and offline media outlets and also launching an affiliate marketing programme.

During the initial six-week programme Musicmagpie.co.uk has appeared in both print and online media including The Guardian, Daily Mirror and on Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert.com.
