Roku, the leading streaming platform in the US, has chosen technology specialists Context to lead its PR campaign as the company launches into the UK.
Roku streaming players allow consumers to stream Internet entertainment from more than 150 online channels, including on-demand TV from BBC iPlayer and the latest films from Netflix, straight to their television without the need for a PC.
Clive Hudson, Roku vice president and general manager for Europe, said: “We wanted to create a company profile in the UK and build on the success in the US. We value Context’s experience in the consumer technology market and look forward to working with a knowledgeable team.”
Frank Smith, managing director of Context, added: “This appointment is an exciting opportunity for us to gain wider awareness for the Roku brand and open up fresh opportunities for the company in the UK. We’re excited to be a part of the streaming phenomenon set to take hold of the UK and position Roku at the forefront of the industry.”
